Gary L. Stewart – On Desire

I guess I like to thumb through my old Rosicrucian Digests. Anything to gain perspective. In going all the way back to August, 1986, I found an article by the then Imperator, Gary L. Stewart called “Desire.”

In it, he talks about the problems with visualizing things that you desire- and then turns to the “desire” for Cosmic Consciousness. He says-

Since desire for Cosmic Illumination tells us that we do not yet have it, and the very foundation of Rosicrucian teachings tells us that we are identical to all that is, are we not defeating our purpose, our goal,… Continue reading

Escalating the Illusion Part III

In continuing to look over some of my old Rosicrucian Digests, I came across a “Thought of the Month” by former Imperator Gary Stewart. It was titled, “Laws of the Rosy Cross.” Commenting on the hopes for a New Age, promulgated so frequently towards the end of the last century, Stewart said in the May/June issue of 1987-

It is indeed good and important that humanity is entering into an era in which value is being placed upon the elevation of consciousness. But let us be cautious of the sensationalism that is being placed upon psychic phenomena and its resulting… Continue reading

Gary Stewart on The Nodin Manuscript

It was never published in its entirety and “always remained in the possession of the principal Rosicrucian adept, and later, the Imperator.”

Steward, who now is the Imperator of the Confraternity of the… Continue reading

The Ascent of Christian Bernard

On August 7th, 1990, Christian Bernard assumed the mantle of Imperator under a very fragile moment for AMORC. Not only had the Order been racked by an upheaval by the termination of Gary Stewart as Imperator as ordered by the Supreme Council, but funds for a variety of reasons were extremely low and this was partially, attributed, at the time, to the actions of Gary Stewart. In a Special 1991 edition of the Forum, a Q&A section addressed the question: How could something like this happen to AMORC? Isn’t the Imperator cosmically guided? Part of the answer was:

We are… Continue reading
